Space Systems Command makes six CASR awards for space domain awareness
Space Systems Command issued six CASR purchase agreements for space domain awareness to unnamed companies.
US Space Force Space Systems Command has issued six Commercial Augmentation Space Reserve purchase agreements under the ACCESS contract for space domain awareness. The command did not name the companies.
SSC said the awards build on earlier CASR pilot efforts and establish the reserve's initial space domain awareness surge capability in support of Joint Commercial Operations. Participating providers will furnish agreed capabilities during periods of increased demand.
Legislators have criticised the Space Force's relatively small commercial budgets, including for CASR. The service's fiscal 2027 budget request was more than $71 billion, against about $32 billion enacted for fiscal 2026. It requested $37 million for commercial services in fiscal 2026 and about $24 million in fiscal 2027.
