SES has signed two new customers for its multi-orbit in-flight connectivity service: Finnair and Air Astana. SES announced the Finnair deal on 2 November.

Finnair will adopt the service on 18 new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which Embraer will line-fit with the SES electronically steered array. Eutelsat's OneWeb network will provide low-Earth orbit connectivity. The aircraft are due to join the Finnair fleet from the third quarter of 2027. The deal does not cover the full fleet: Finnair operates around 80 aircraft, mostly Airbus.

Kazakhstan's flag carrier Air Astana will also adopt SES services across its Airbus A321LR fleet. The first connected aircraft entered commercial service on 29 October, and deployment will continue through 2027. SES will provide a managed service, supported by Kazakh telecommunications provider QMobile, formerly Jusan Mobile.
