WarpWare closes $1.2M pre-seed round for space flight software tools
Colorado-based WarpWare raised $1.2M, mostly from angels, to expand its AI-enabled engineering platform for space missions.
Colorado-based WarpWare closed a $1.2M pre-seed round to expand what it calls an AI-enabled engineering platform for space missions. The round was raised through SAFEs and was primarily angel-funded.
Investors include the angel groups Rockies Venture Club, Cowtown Angels and the Aggie Angel Network, along with individual angels and two space-focused early-stage funds, Vesper Alpha and Marlboro Lane Ventures.
WarpWare grew out of a question its founders asked while working at Sierra Space: how much of the company's flight software could be reused for a new vehicle. CEO and cofounder Alex Reynolds and COO and cofounder Mickey Mathew say the answer was almost none. "Roughly 80% of the space software stack is expensive and time-consuming to build, but it is not proprietary," Reynolds said.
The company says its platform is used by more than 20 organisations across missions including in-space power beaming, NASA science missions, cislunar missions and launch vehicles. The new funds will go towards bringing agentic-engineering capabilities to more commercial and government space markets and building out sales and marketing.
