A review posted to arXiv on 29 October summarises the properties of KM3-230213A, an ultra-high-energy neutrino event detected by the KM3NeT neutrino telescope. The paper's author is Carla Distefano, and it is listed in Physics and the Cosmos, volume 1, issue 1 (2026).

The review discusses interpretations including active galactic nuclei, transient sources and cosmogenic neutrinos, with attention to multi-messenger constraints. It highlights the role of multi-messenger constraints.

Despite extensive follow-up observations, no unambiguous electromagnetic counterpart has been identified. The event also remains in tension with the absence of comparable detections in other experiments. This leaves open the possibility of more complex source scenarios or contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model.
