Seraphim Space launches Academy for early-stage startups with $150,000 investment
Seraphim Space has launched an academy for early-stage space startups that includes $150,000 of investment per company.
Seraphim Space, a space-focused venture capital firm, announced the Seraphim Academy on 29 October. The program is for early-stage space startups and offers courses in fundraising, scaling and operations. It includes up to a year of support and $150,000 of investment for each participating company.
The academy succeeds Seraphim's startup accelerator, which ran between 2018 and 2025. It offers similar mentorship and help with pitches, but adds fresh funds and access to the firm's partnership with Space Florida. It drops the cohort model, runs rolling admissions and expects to take on up to 15 companies a year over the next decade.
Managing Director Alexander Holt told Payload that more companies and more investors are looking at the space industry. He added, "One of the bits that was missing from our accelerator proposition was the cash."
The academy will act as the new front door to the firm. Over the past decade Seraphim has invested in more than 150 companies, including 11 unicorns and six IPOs.
