Arqiva has signed a three-year agreement with Kuwaiti communications company Gulfsat, announced on 15 October. Arqiva will provide a managed service covering fibre connectivity and the uplink of four Ku-band transponders onto Eutelsat 8 West B.

The uplink will come from Arqiva's Chalfont and Crawley teleports in the UK. Arqiva says the service is fully managed and end to end, with global fibre connectivity, integrated infrastructure and 24/7 operations.

Arqiva said the deal could lead to further collaboration across its Media Services portfolio, including cloud playout, headend services, monetisation, streaming and CDN. Gaurav Jandwani, executive director of Media & Broadcast at Arqiva, said the company is ready to extend the model to operators and broadcasters across the Middle East and Africa.
